Taking Good News Relevantly To Every Young Person |
![]() |
More and more churches want to reach out to young people but often that task just seems too difficult. It is in response to this that Norwich Youth for Christ have launched Fusion. |
Fusion offers a formula for churches to access expertise and experience through a dedicated youth worker. NYFC recognises that for many churches employing their own youth worker is simply too expensive. Fusion provides the process for this to become more accessible. Through Fusion, churches pay for the proportion of time that they can afford or need a youth worker. For example one church on the North of Norwich could afford or have the need for half a worker and another church on the South of Norwich the same. Through Fusion one full time youth worker can be employed to serve both churches.
Youth workers employed through this scheme are employees of NYFC. They gain access to all the experience, expertise, resources and support that comes as a result of working for an organisation dedicated to reaching young people with the Gospel for over 25 years.
Fusion has already attracted the support of several church leaders, here is what they said:
"Many churches long to reach young people but don't have access to specialist help. Fusion is an imaginative way of helping those churches. It will ensure professional standards and, I pray, help more young people hear about the Good News of Jesus Christ."
Rt Revd Bishop of Norwich, Graham James
"This proposal certainly has my support. The church needs to urgently reach out to the youth of our nation. Youthwork today is very specialised and needs qualified, committed youth workers who understand the special youth culture of today"
Howard Grottick
Divisional Commander, Anglia Division,
Lieut. Colonel - Salvation Army
Fusion is designed to allow churches from all backgrounds and whatever the
size to be able to access professional youth workers.
